cigarette They are GOOD! AM RICAN LEGION AffAIRS Of SOUTH CAROlINA (By Ben Adams, Charleston) A livoly meeting of the Fred H. Sexton Post, at Florence, was held Tuesday night. A large number of mombeks attended. Plans were made for a regular army canteen at the fair grounds during the Pee Dee aFir, Oc tober 17 to 20. Commander McIver is to name a committee to have charge of this feature. The management of the opera house and the post are work ing on .plans looking to a benefit en tertainment for the post during the fair. The South Carolina delegation to the national convention at New Or leans will leave next Sunday. It is expected :that the Palmetto State will be well represented this year as a number of legion men will go on the destroyers: sailigg' from Charleston. It is undrstgod that Branchville will have' about eight representatives at New Orleans. It is fine when a small post can find so many men that are willing to attend. Branchvillo post has shown that it is made up of wide-awake members who can and will dork for the legion. "We want a home all our own" is the attitude of the legian men at Florence. At the last meeting the question of erecting a home for the exclusive use of the legion was freely discussed. With the Florence men ac tively behind the movement it is cer tain that something will be accom plished. The time is drawing near for all pt its to plan something special for Armistice Day. This is the . great est event in the legions' calendar and every post should take proper aeticn to see that it is observed in a manner befitting the occasion. A Pullman load of legion members from the Pee Dee section are expected to swing into line for the national con vention next Sunday. Many members of the auxiliary will attend in addition to the regularly elected delegates. All reservations must be made through the departmerit adjutant. Literal Lem Again "I see by the paper Lilly Rotecome is worlsing in the city now." "Well, she's dancing in one of them cabarets--'d say Lilly toils not-bu; boy, how she can spin!" ed." "And," adds Warden Zerbst, U. S. Prison, Atlanta, "Men, too." SHERIFF NOTICE OF SAlE - State of South Carolina, County of Clarendon. Court of Common Pleas. Decree. I. C. Strauss and I. A.
