MEDLIN With the prices of cotton and cot ton seed, lumber and most any other salable commodities hanging around zero, together with the poor stands of cotton and corn coupled up with the cold weather as well as plenty of boll weevils looking around over the cot ton fields and sharpening up their bills ready to puncture the first shape put out, there is very little if any cptimism displayed by the business men and farmers and the heretofore polite salutes and the happy "howdy - does" has been reduced to the okd time pre-war "good morning John" and I hope your folks are all well. Well let's dont be too serious over the depressed conditions for it is said behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining and if we will fight hard and be economical those of us who have no money now will have the "dough" and those of us who are wig gling and wabbling under our in debtedness will wipu it out and sooner or later our country again will enjoy a wave of prosperity and by gone days of mental agony and blue streaks will be forgotten and again we shall have a happy people and all things will be well. The latest attraction oi ti)e play giound at the school house is' a giant stride. This seems to be very popular with almost all the folks and we are very much of the opinion that if the girls and boys wvill keep up their prac tice riding around on the giant-stride it will certainly pull the kinks out of their shoulders.
