lumbia yesterday to argue a case in
the supreme court.

Mrs. D. Hlirschmann left Monday for
New York, where she went to visit
her children.
Mr. Craven Bradham left yesterday
(lay for Greenville to enter Furman
University. His father Col. A. C.
Bradhain accompanied him there.

Miss Thompson, formerly of Jor
dan, but who is now practicing her
profession in Columbia as trained
nurse is nursing Mr. C. A. McFaddin.
Mrs. J. W. Barton who has been in
the Baptist Hospital, Columbia, for
the past three weeks recovering from
an operation, returne(l home Saturday
night.

the home of Mr. J. W. Harrison last
Saturday night, on account of an oil

The election commissioners met
Monday and appointed the managers
for State and Federal election which
takes place November 2nd. Read the
notices on another page.
Mr. Ingram Bradham is in Atlanta
this week showing some of his pure

come away from the Atlanta fair with

McFaddin, who is ill at his home in
Manning.
W. T. Lesesne and Son who operate
a cotton gin at Silver received the fol
lowing letter Monday night: "W. T.
Lesesne and Son: Close down your
gins at once until further notice if
you don't you will pay the penalty.
The Black 75." The letter was mailed
at Suninierton and Mr. Lesesne got it
out of the Manning post office. The
posting of gins should be stopped, and
if any of the guilty parties are dis
covered they should be hung. There is
no farmer who has room to store his
loose cotton, but after it is baled he
can handle it. The posting of the
gins is a most dastardly crime and
should be stopped at once.
