Ya-sney as the third officer of the town. Mr. W. M. Plowden went to '-disto Island this week to attenl the funeral of Mrs. Plowden's brother. The W. C. T. U. will meet at the home of Mrs. Jno. ). The car is supposed to have caught from a loose connection. Mr. and Mrs. Lachicotte of Waverly Mills -ire visiting their parents in Manning, Judge and Mrs. John S. Wilson. The fire department was called out Sunday to the drug store of Dr. A. W. Brown, colored, which was burning. The fire was extinguished with little dam oage. One of the soft drink trucks fron Sumter fell off of a bridge near Sar dinia Monday and killed a negro who was riding the truck. The driver, a white man, was also hurt. Mr. W. S. Prince who has been with Iseman Wholesale Grocery for some time past, has opened a retail grocery business in the building formerly oc- I cupied by the Young Motor Co. Mesdames .1. A. Cole, J. A.
