the demand for turkeys largely is, and
that their value as egg producers is
considerable, the importance of a few
geese on a general farm becomes ap
parent.
Geese, in common with ducks, are
utilizers of forms of feed confined to
ponds and streams, but they are in
that particular excelled by ducks. On
farms where ponds or streams are
available ducks will convert into meat
and eggs great quantities of water
insects and various aquatic forms
that would not be utilized by any
other kind of poultry. Ducks, while
they consume much grass and other
green stuff, are more partial to ani
mal feeds and are very energetic in
patroling the branches, creeks, and
ponds as sources of fod supply, say
poultry specialists in the United
States Department of Agriculture.

A FAMILY

Georgia Lady, Reg ig Black
Draught. Relief. From Head
ache, Malaria, Chills, Etc.
Ringgold, Ga.- Mrs. Chas. Gaston,
of this place, writes: "I am a user
of Thedford's Black-Draught; in fact,
it was one of our family medicines.
Also in my mother's home, when I
was a child. When any of us child
ren complained of headache, usually
caused by constipation, she gave us
a dose of Black-Draught, which would
rectify the trouble. Often in the
Spring, we would have malaria and
chills, or troubles of this kind, we
would take Black-Draught pretty reg
ular until the liver acted well, and
we would soon be up and around
again. We would not be without it,
for it certainly has saved us lots of
doctor bills. Just a dose of Black
Draught when not so 'well saves a
lot of days In bed."
Thedford's Black-Draught has been
In use for many years in the treat
mont of stomach, liver and bowel
troubles, and the popularity which it
now enjoys Is proof of its mnet'it.
If your -liver is not doing its duty,
a lyou will suffer from such disagree.
-able symptoms as headache, bilious
ness, constipation, indigestion. etc.,
and unless something is done, serious
,trouble may result.
Thedford's Black-Draught has boon
found a valuable remedy for these
troubles. It is purery vegetable, and
- acts In a prompt and natural way,
s regulating the liver to its proper
rfunctions and cleansing the bowels of
rimpurities. Try It. Insist on Thed.

ORDER QUEENS NOW
Clemson College, July 19.-Atten
tion to bee-keepers is directed to the
difficulty of obtaining queens on
short order this season. It appears
that a number of queen breeders
have gone over to honey production ,
because of the high price of honey
at this time, say sthe Extension Ser
vice bee specialist, and it is necessary
that all beekeepers desiring queens
should place their orders promptly,
as queens ordered now will probably
not be delivered before August 5 to
10. A list of reputable breeders
may be bbtained from any of the bee
keepers' magazines or from the Ex
tension Service of Clemson College.
It is advisable for beekeepers to co
operate and send club orders and
thus receive considerable discount.
Those who have failed to receive In
formation Card No. 10, should write
for it because it furnishes a guide for
all beekeepers who intend to re
queen.
Great care should be exercised as
to the places from which queens arg
ordered. The breeder should be a
reputable one in order to get purely
mated queens and to prevent the ac
cidental introduction of European or
American foul brood. So far as is
known now, South Carolina is yet
free from these injurious diseases.
