A. Massebeau, of Kingstree. These sermons were lis tened to by large and appreciative audionces. Mrs. Addie Jones has returned from : visit to relatives at Silver. Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Stokes have re turr.u from Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Sue Davis, of Manning, spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Joe Si-rott. Thi3 section, inchiding a lare- area, was sadly shocked this morning, (March 8) when a wire brought the news of the death of one of Jordan's former Methodist pastors, the Rev. .J. T. McFarland, who passed away al, his parsonage home at Scanton S. C. lie had only bein ill a few days with influenza which developed into pneu:1onia. Rev. McFarland moved fro'n here last December to Scranton. le was much loved by all of his par ihinoers. A great and good man gone. 1le leaves a wife and five child ren ,three boys and two girls. Mr. James Marros, who lived a few miles from Jordan, died last Wednes day at his home. lie had influenza which developed into pneumonia.
