C., in a statement she gave in indorse ment of Tanlac. "I had suffered from indig. stion for years when I began taking Tanlac, and with the indiges tion I had had nervous attacks. I' would get so short of breath that I would pant for hours, just like a per son who had been running. I had to be very careful of what I ate, for everything I ate hurt me. I nearly always had headaches and never did feel really well. "The Tanlac quickly ended that shortness of breath, though, and my stomach soon was built up, regulated and strengthened, so I ate heartily and wdis not troubled with indigestion. Those headaches left me and my whole system was regulated and strenthened generally. I am glad to recommend Tanlac." Taniac, the Master Medicine, is sold by Dickson's Drug Store, Manning; H. W. WALKOUT AT COLUMBIA Columbia, Aug.. 4.-Approximately 700 members of the five allied ma chinists crafts employed at the local shops of the Southern and Seaboard Air Line Railways went out on a strike here this mornng for an in creased wage scale.- The walkout was in obedience to orders from the national federation, %nich has called a nationwide strike. Approximately 600 machinists em ployed at the Southern Shops laid down Their tools at 10 o'clock this morning and quietly quit work. Offi cials of the craftsmen's unions said that the strike was 100 per cent strong, both white artisans and negro helpers walking out. At the local Seaboard Shops about ninety or 100 workmen obeyed the strike order. The machinists are .Contending for a flat wage scale of eighty-five cents an hour, with time and half-time for overtime, for all machinists irri spective of craft; sixty cents an hour for helpers, ten cents an hour for ap precntices. The men are prohibited by their unions from doing any repair work, even to, coupling air hose on pas senger or freight trains, which duty, they say, the trainmen's and conduc tor's unions forbid their members do ing. However, the machinists allow their members wvorking on wrecking crews to remain on duty, but they ar only to resp~ondl to wrecking calls to clear the main lines when trains are wrecked. TIhe machinists here think that they will wvi nitheir strike in a short time. - 0 WORLD CONSUMED 10,620,000 BA LES Ne Orleans, Aug. 4.--The world conlsumied duitring th( e er ended with .July a total of 1 0,620,000) bales of.
