Wolfe, of Dallas, chairman of the State Democratic Executive Com mittee of Texas, a prominent layman I of that state and president of the Bap tist General Convention of Texas, has just wired to Dr. L. R. Scarborough, General Director of the Baptist 75 Million Campaign, his subscription of I $100,000 to the campaign, though the real drive for cash and five-year sub scriptions will not be made until the week of November 30-December 7. Mr. Wolfe's subscription is not des ignatesi for any special cause and will be apportioned among all the inter ests fostered by the campaign. Having just returned from Europe, where he made a special study of the business and social conditions of that 3 continent, Mr. Wolfe is expected to lend himself largely to the campaign hereafter. 3 WHAT BAPTISTS ARE DOING FOR FOREIGN MISSIONS TODAY 3 In connection with the Baptist 75 Milhon Campaign, and the appropria tion of $20,000,000 of that sum for 3 foreign missions, it is announced that the. Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist convention is now 3 supporting 316 foreign missionaries in ten great fields. In addition there are 787 native workers, 192 of whom 3 are ordained. A total of 464 churches 1 have been organized, with a member ship of 53,629. One hundred and for 3 ty-one of these churches are self-sup porting and 258 of the congregations 1 have houses of worship. In addition there are 1,037 out-stations. 1 Through the instrumentalities 'of the board a total of 482 schools of all wgrades have been established in for. 3 eign lands, in which were gathered last year 13,866 students. Eleven of these are Bible schools with 302 stu dents. There are colleges with 19C Sstudents. Twenty-three are high schools with 1,250 students. The oth ers are schools of elementary, grades 1 including fourteen kindergartens. " In addition to the missionaries the 3 board supports twelve foreign physi. cians, six foreign trained nurses twenty-one native physicians and twenty-three native nurses.
