Spartanburg, May 8.-Joseph Tra vis Johnston, United States Judge of the Western district of South Caro- I lina, died at his residence on North Fairview avenue, tonight at 8:30 o'clock, only a brief time after his kon, Joseph T. Johnston, Jr., reached i his bedside from Wisconsin. Judge I Johnson was taken sick Sunday even- I ing, April 27, and eleven days later breathed his last, surrounded by his I stricken family. Judge Johnston is survived by his vife and the following children: oseph T. Johnston, Jr., Miss Mary ohnston, Harvey W. Johnston, Lau ens Johnston, Benjamin Oswald ohnston, Charles Edwin Johnston nd Elizabeth Johnston. A sister, vlrs. E. J. Allen, of Greenville, and a Brother, W. H. Johnston, of Halifax, ova Scotia, also survive him.
