A Resolution ordering and directing a special election in the Town of Manning, upon the question of issu ing coupon bonds of the said Town of Manning for the purpose of Street paving, curbing and other Street improvements on a petition of the majority of the free-holders of the Town of Manning. . WHEREAS, A Petition, signed by a majority of the free-holders of the Town of Manning, as shown by the tax books of said Town, has been filed with the Town Council of said Town. asking that the said Town Council order a special election by the registered electors of the said Town of Manning, to be conducted according to law, upon the question of issuing coupon bonds of the said Towr of Manning or the par value not to exceed Forty-Five Thousand ($45,000.00) Dollars, or as much thereof as can legally be issued, the proceeds thereof to be used solely for the purpose of Street paving, curbing and other Street improvements; now, therefore, IT IS ORDERED AND DIRECT ED, That an election by the register ed electors of the said Town of Mann ing, to be conducted according to law, upon the question of issuing coupon bonds of the said Town of Manning of the par value not exceeding in the aggregate Forty-Five Thousand Dol lars, ($15,000.00) bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6) par an num, payable semiannually and pay 'able in any legal tender money of the United States of America, twenty (20) years after (late, for the pur pose of street paving, curbing . and other street improvements in the said Town of Manning, he held on the 9th day of June. 1919, upon the c'-estion of issuing said bonds for the pu:eose aforesaid; sucEh election to be conducted in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina gov erning - unirina! ele"tions. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That such election shall be held at The Town Hall in the Town of Mann ing, on the day aforesaid, and the polls shall be open therefor at 8 o'clock A. M., and remain open con tinuously until 4 o'clock P. M. of said date; and that at such election the registered electors favoring the issue of said bonds shall vote ballots with the words, "For the issue of bonds for street paving, curbing and other street improvements-Yes," printed thereon; a: d the electors opposing such issue of bonds shall vote nallots with the words, "For the issue of bonds for street paving, curbing And other street improvements-No" printed thereon. That two hundred (200) of each of such ballots the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause to be printed and placed at the polls for the use of the registered electors vot ing at such election. That at such election only those qualified under the !-w slill be allowed to vote and the registi ation books for said election shall be open 20 (lays before the elec tion and shall remain open for a period of ten days. That E. C. Horton, Joseph S. Dick son, and J. W. Rigby are hereby ap pointed and designated as managers of said election to conduct the same according to law, canvas the vote and rake due return thereof to the Town Coincil. That notice of such election shall be given by publishing once a week f >r five weeks in "The Manning Times" a newspaper published in the Town of Manning, immediately pre c-ding such election.
