I.--International pp: larity seems to have been gained by the newv model' sanitary house re ,pently invented by the Philippine H-ealth Service. Letters from many panrts of the wvorld have been pouring into the office of the director making inquiries about the juodel house. So great is the interest mianifested by the governments of foreign countries over the new ouse that some, have sent represen atives to the islands .for the purpose of securing first-hand dlata about the model house, and many have expressed their dlesire to adopt -the type for the people in their owna K. Sogowa, a consulting cngineer of the Osaka iron works in Chohu Bakan, Japan, called personally re cently, having been delegated by the Formosan government to ge infor mation on the model sanitary house. H-e showed much interest in looking over the house under construction at the government orphanage at Casa Quinta, San Pedro Macati, and the ~uberculosis wvard newly built in San Lazaro hospital. After making a study of the house he saidl that he 'thought houses built on the Philip pine model would last in Japan for eight years. He praise'd the model house for* Its glurability, cheapness and good sanitation, and thought .without dloubt the Formosan govern ment would adopt it for Forgnosa. Other 'inquiries have come from Japan, French .Indo-Ch~na, Straits Settlements, Java, India andl Porto Rico, and the health seirvice has now under preparation a set of .bulletins setting forth all information needed about the construction of the model sanitary house.
