Cothran has left with the Home Bank and Trust Co., for free distribution a lot of tobacco seed for the tobacco planters. These seed are raised and carefully selected in the Piedmont section of North Caro lina where the finest wrappers are grown. Mr. T. N. Wildman left las Sunday night for Tampa, Fla., where he will go into business. Mr. Wildman made Manning a good citizen while here, and we commend him to the people of Tampa. In returning from the dance at Sar dinia Monday night, or maybe early Tuesday morning the car of Miss An nie Hirschmann got stuck in the mud in Trinity and the occupants had a nice hike for about two miles in the rain and mud. The Times office is jammed full of work, which has caused us to run half of the nights, but we appreciate this rush, for we know the people ap-. preciate high-class work, and that's the reason they send it to us. The Sardinia Cotillion Club gave a very enjoyable dance Monday night in the school building at Sardinia. Those attending from Manning were: Misses Rounette and Annie Hirsch mann. Esther Berges, Louise Mor row and Tasca Turbeville; and Messrs. Plyler, Bertram and Julian Weinberg, Jake and Claren !e Iseman, Ellerbe, Edwin .Johnsen, Harry Riff, Bennie Ness, Ed. This concern will be located in the front of the Levi building, the same as has been occupied by Louis Levi until the fire. The young men that are to launch out into the mer cantile world are Messrs. Jake Ise man and Bertram Weinberg. These boys are hustlers and to them success is bound to come. The Times wishes them much prosperity. Manning is about to lose one of her most valuable citizens in the person of Mr. Louis Levi. This gentleman, who was born and raised in this town, and one who is liked by every body, one who is known for his hen (est methodls and charitable (leeds, one wfio1 is an asset to any community, has dlecidled to cast his lot in the city or Abbeville, and about the first of January he and his family will move from among us. We are loathe to giv'e Mr. andl Mrs. Levi up, but as they have made their decision, wve wish for them happiness and pros.. perity in their new home. In the United States Court held in Charleston last week, the Lloyd brothers were triedl for using the mail. for fraudulent purposes. The ones charged were B. R. andl J. B. Lloyd, of Columbia, WV. D)., C. L. alias J1. C. and J1. C. L., of Manning. All of these men were found guilty andl sentenced as follows: .J. B. Lloyd, 18 months in the Federal prison int A tlanta and cost; B. R. Lloyd six months in Richland jail and cost, W. I). and C. L. or ,J. C. or .1. C. L,. Lloyd, six months in Clarendon jail. L. C. Lloyd, another brother, who was sup posed t~o have been implicated in the airfair, was exoneratedl by the court. This case was very expensive as there were witnesses from different parts of the state, two from Chicago and one from New York to testify. There fore, unless J. B3. and B. R.
