Mr. Lieu-j< ranee has entrusted* the directorship < to Mr. Harry Anderson, a noted ar-; tist among the younger violinists, j S Mr. Anderson was a pupil of Mae s Reese of Berlin and later with Carl i ^ Frederick Steckleberg. Mr. Ander- < son is not only a very excellent leader; bat is a very capable artist and does!* the violin solo work for the organiza- j1 tion. Miss Violet Falk the contral- < to soloist with the orchestra is one i of the popu^r young artists of the j* Middle West who is falst making a t na*ne for herself in concert work. She has a most unusual voice, rich jt and sweet with?the emotional quality p predominating. For the cdllo work .1 Mr. Lieu ranee has chosen Miss Vivi- j an Brewster, an excellent technician ^ who produces a beautiful tone. She has had extensive experience in high grade orchestra work. There are eight artists in all and each member is: an artist of unusual talent. More than eighty turkeys were prepared for this meal, ^he dinner was given on Sunday in order that those students who wished to spend the Thanksgiving holiday ; away from the college would not have to miss dinner. Although the time was too short to allow Newberry boys ta 3pend Thanksgiving at home a great many of them took this oppoi tunity to visit their friends who live< nearer the college. Cadets C. V. Epiing, 0. L. Counts and W. C. Huffman were Thanksgiv ing visitors to Pelzer. Cadet J. C Epiing took turkey dinner with Mr H. F. Woodside of Greenville. Cadet Riehard Hipp has returne to Clemson after spending severa days at his home in Pomaria, when he attended the marriage of his sistei Mr. G. H. Aull and Cadet J. C Aull, Jr., spent the Thanksgiving holiday with Rev. W. B. Aull of Wal halla.
