LITTLE FOLKS, THE CIRCUS IS COMING TO PITCH TENTS AT GILDERS FIELD. Rhoda Royal's Circus VV'iil tic r.erc Next Thursday?Coming Here From Columbia. ' The advent of the Rhoda Royal's greatest shows, on Thursday, August 26, will, it is said, mark an epoch in the matter of tented amusements in Portland. That- this show will present the biggest 'and finest street pageant Newberry has yet witnessed, is asserted without qualification. That the circus company numbers - . . I more circus performers and of a better order of merit ;han have heretofore been gathered together under any one management, is also stated positively. Thousands cf dollars cash' were expended last winter in accumulating new features to add to the! glories of the "Rhoda Royal Greatest,1 Shows." j The menagerie is said to be a very! complete one, containing the finestI collection of rare wild beasts ever on the coast.. The newspapers all along A' - ,:i vio-Viiv nf this hucre en xne nut; x,~ ^ tertainment, and the "small boy," as ! "well as those older folks who will i be delighted again with the feats of j the many male and female perform- j ?rs, the handsome horses, the won-1 derful exhibition of wild beasts in j the circular steel cage, the marvelous | aerial acts, and the exciting races on j the hippodrome track'. Exchanges' are all unanimous in praising the j courtesy of Royal's employes while I handling the immense crowds and I findinc ceats for late comers. The lack of "sure thing'' men and j fakers also adds materially to the en joyment of the spectator. The reputation of Rhode Royal for j faithfully carrying out all his ad- < vance promises and for dealing fairly: with the public in all things, affords; positive assurance that his show will j eclipse- anything of a like nature !
