Ij tr Fire between 11 and 12 o'clock Thursday morning completely destroyed a house near the Mollohon mill, situated out of the city limits from Glenn street. It was occupied by three families lately from Tennessee. The smaller children were in the house at the time. They were saved from the tire by Mr. Pierce Banks and others. The household effects were also destroyed. The house was far gone when the alarm was sounded and practically burned clown when the fire company reached the place, but the fire fighters saved near houses. Monday night while the lights were out, except candle lights and the lights from kerosene lamps, and everything looked dark and gloomy, :here was a brilliant contrast in the store of Geo. C. Hipp with the bright lights from his Silent Alamo light and power plant run by the Parmer's Light and Power company. tVhat a difference. It made people yonder how they ever did without electricity. The lighting up of Hipp's store on Monday night was a big idvertisement for the Silent Alamo. More people ought to use that power, t would pay.
