BLEASE D T 1 KAIIN Former Citizen of Saluda County Killed on Railroad Track at Mountville. Saluda Standard, 23rd. Luther B. Blease, formerly of this county but who moved to Mountville, Laurens county, about a year ago, was killed at that place Saturday night while trying to cross the railroad track ahead of the fast vestibule train No. 6, on the Seaboard Air Line. Mr. Blease was born and reared in this : county, but moved to Mountville and lived several years, afterward return- | ing to Saluda county. About a year | ago he again moved to Mountville. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Rebecca Pitts, a sister of Dr. S \T M T jjnH Hr T W Pitr? nf ' this place. He also leaves five boys and one daughter, as follows: J. W. Blease, of Clearwater, T. W. Blease. B. B. Blease, S. C. Blease and R. T. Blease, and Mrs. J. W. Merchant, all of this county. The burial took place at Bethel Universalist church, of which the de- j ceased wa3 a member, Monday, morn- | ing, the funeral services being con- 1 ducted by the Rev. Mr. Halfacre, of j Newberry. A iarge number from Sa- i luda and other points attended the j funeral. Among those paroled by the ex-governor Monday was Mr. Matt Berry of Saluda, on good behavior, after having served one year of his sentence of five years for manslaughter.
