LETTER FROM C. L. DUNCAN TO HIS WIFE. Somewhere in France, November 26. 1918. My Dearest Wife: Will take tlie greatest of pleasure this rainy day tc drop you a few lines to let you heai from me. Also fn answer to yours re ceived yesterday. More than glad t< hear from the little girl and to know that you are in good health. This leaves me doing fine at this date. II did look at one time that I woulc never get a letter from you all again for I left the company at the from on the morning of the 7th of Octobei for hospital and just got back to the company November *25th, and, gee. ] was glad to* get back with the boys The whole time I was away I didn't hear from any of you all. but when 1 got back to the company I had lots%oi mail, and I sure did enjoy them, the cne from you, anyway. Say, we have quit fighting over here now and I don't think it will be long before the boys y who are left have the pleasure of being home with the loved ones. The fastest boat that ever sailed will be too slow for me going home, you bet. The Germans tried so hard to get me, but by luck and God being with me I am glad to say that I am still here not hurt at all, although they got me with his mustard gas, but as the old snake in the spring time I peeled off my old skin and got a new one ready to go any time for the Huns again. The Huns are good scrappers, but the stuff that Uncle Sam pnts out, they cant stand it, for the Tanks know Ch I still have and White need, come 1 MavAc' Rnnlr J iviujvo uvvn t The House of a The C o Condensed Statem Loans and Invest Liberty Bonds Overdrafts, sec Cash on Hand < CapitalJStock Surplus and Pr Dividend No. 4 Dividends Unp< Unearned Inter Bills Payable Deposits * JNO.
