Lexington, March 5.?The territory lying between Lexington and the lit tle town of Edmund was visited by one of the severest wind, rain and hail storms in recent years yesterday afternoon. Telephone poles and wires were blown across the road as well as large trees. Dr. G. Frank Roberts, cf Lexington, who was visiting pa-, tients in the vicinity of the storm at the time, found u necessary to go to a farm house and secure an axe to cut a large tree out of the road, in order that he might pass in his machine. i Dr. Roberts declares that it was the worst experience he ever had; and that the wind was so swiii mac, i$ seemed at times as if it would ca^ryj his car away. The rain was so heavy that it became almost as dark as # night, and travel was difficult. Ju3t "over how wide an area the storm ex tended cannot be learned, since tele-, phone wires have been out of com-; mission; but it is believed to have covered a -large territory. The storm lasted for several minutes, and the rain fell in torrents for an hour or longer. Church of the Redeemer. (Rev. Edward Fulenwider, Pastor.)
