The many readers of the Columbia Record were disappointed when the paper came to Newberry on Tuesday afternoon. There was not a word in it about the meeting of the State executive committee. And they didn't know whether the committee hlad declared the result of the primary election or not. Surely the committee had finished its work before the Record went to press, but then maybe the Record did not consider that news. The price of print paper continues to go up. And the supply is limited, the paper dealers say. The opportunity now to get a paper like The Herald and News for a whole year for only one dollar may never come again. And this opportunity is given oniy until the first of October, and then all who are not paid in advance will toe dropped. INYfe shall regret to do it, but there is no other course. Every'body but a fool newspaper publisher | would increase the price as the cost of production went up, but the newspaper publisher thinks he can go on at' the same old price. Supervisor Safnple is doing some good work on the road from Prosperity to the steel bridge anU on down to Holly's ferry. The road is being made 3<y feet wide and rounded up and and it does look good to see a road that wide.
