The State commit-j tee is charged with the execution and' direction of the policy of the party o?j this State, subject to these rules, the! principles declared in the platform of j principles and such instruction, by resolution or otherwise, as a State convention may from time to time adop:, not inconsistnet with 'these rules, and shal] continue in office two years from the time of election or until their successors have been elected. The committee shall nomina e presidential electors, and if any vacancy occur in the Sta e ticket of electors, or of the national executive committee, by death, resignation or other cause, tne commi tee shall have! the power to fill the vacancy; all by! majorrv of the whole committee. State Convention. 24. The State convention shall be called by ..he State commit:ee to meet at Columbia every general election yoar on the third Wednesday in May. The convention shall be composed of delegates elected by the county conventions, each c:unty to be entitled to as many delega:es as double the number of its member's in the general I assembly. When the State convention assembles it s;hall be called to or der by the chairman of the S:ate committee. A temporary president shall | be nominated and elected by the convention and after its organization tiae convention shall proceed immediately to the election of permanen' officers and to the transaction of business. When the business has concluded it shall adjourn sine die. 25. The officers of the State convention shall be a president, vice president frcm each congressional district, two secretaries and a treasurer. 26. Each county delegation to a State convention s'-nall have power to fill the vacancy therein. 27. Any county failing or refusing . to organize under the provisions of ' these rules shall not have represen- ' tation in the S:ate Democratic convention. i Campaign Meetings. 28.
