The supervisor had some thing else to do. So that was a new office for him. The Greenwood Journal supposes that "pumpkins are grown for fairs and Hallowe'en nights exclusively.'' Dr. Rachel McMaster of our missionary force in Mexico, spoke in our chruch in Newberry, S. C. ,last Sabbath night. Miss McMaster was teaching in the city schools of Newberry when she decided to become a missionary and resigned her position there to enter a medical college.?lA. R Presbyterian, 5th. Bro. Dale and family and Miss Xeel are still in Tampico, and for them the days are long and weary days. They cannot hear from their Rio Verde home and people, nor are they informed of the management of affairs there. Miss Xeel has opened a small school for some girls she brought from Rio Verde.?A. R. Presbyterian, 5th. rney -ten a good joke on a certain college student in Newberry. He was talking to a young lady friend who formerly lived here but who is now living in another city, but he wanted to know who she was visiting in that city. Another young lady told him she was "visiting her husband:' Up to that time he didn't know she was married, and thought that "the girl was still single," and he was talking for all he was worth along those lines, as the young lady is one of the sweetest that ever left the city with a bridegroom.
