For the information of Mr. Supervisor Hiil I want to quote a ection cf the general school law. Section 1723 reads: "County to fur ish certain things.?The county board of commission rs of each county are authorized and required (note "required") to furnish the county board of education of their county with a comfortable a d; convenient office and suitable office furniture, and to supply said office with fuel lights, stationery, postage (note the word) and such other inci dentals as ar? necessary to the proper transaction of the legitimate business of the office." The county superintendent is ?ecrttary of the county board, and is supposed to run the office, and to keep up with the correspondence, and it takes a fcw stamps. Maybe the county board of commissioners could buy the stamps even if they have no money. I don't know about that: But they say thev will not.
