BEARISH REPORT ON COTTON. Vovernment Figures Indicate Large Yield This Yeat--Especially Big in Texas. Washington, Oct.. 2.-The cotton' -crop of the growing season of 1911, which early in the year gave indica tions that it would be one of the larg -est in the history of the industr.. will approximate 13,868,337 bales of 500 pounds or about 200,000 bales more than the record of 1904. This was in dicated by the final condition report ,of the department of agriculture is sued today at noon, which showed 'the crop to be 71.1 per cent. of nor mal on September 25. While there were declines in the condition in most States there was! an improvement of 2 per cent. in Tex as and 1 per cent. in North Carolina. With an indicated yield of 195 pounds to the acre, as unofficially es timated from today's condition figures, and the planted area, the 1911 crop undoubtedly will go down as the big gest on record. Texas Has Big Crop. The estimated production of cot ton, based on the condition figures of today's report shows the crop of Te,x-, as to be almost 1,000,000 bales more than last year. Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Louis lana and Mississippi showed good in creases, while South Carolina showed a decrease. The estimated production, reckoned by the department of agriculture of ficial method from the crop reporting board's condition figures with com parison of last year by States follows: 1911. 1910. The estimate based on the -reports -of the . correspondents and agents of the bureau gives~ the condition of the 'coton crop on September 25 was 71.11 per- cent. of a normal, as compared with 73.2 per cent. on August 25, 1911,I 65.9 per cent. on, September 25, 1910, 58.5 per cent. on September 25, 1909, -and 66.5 per cent., the average of the past ten years on Septe'mber 25. JIEPORT OF GINNINGS INDICATES BIG CROP' .Washington, Oct. 2.-Indications~ that the cotton crpp of the present season will be one of the largest on record were borne out today by .the census bureau ginning report which showed a total of 3,663,066 running, bales ginned prior to September 25. This was 1,300,000 bales more , thanj ginned to that date a year ago, and1 1,000,000 bales more than ginned to that date during any previous 'year for which recjrds have been kept by the census bureau. The largest increase in ginnings during the period were reported from Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Ala bama and North Carolina. For the 21 working day's since the last gin mug report, September 1, an average of 137,703 bales were imned. Tis was 44,000 bales more a day thani in 193.0; 24.000 more than 1909 and 1908; 81,000 snore than in 1907, and 55,000 more than in 1906. The report, giving amounts - in running. bales, -counting round bales as half bales, with~ com parative statistics to the correspond ing date for the past tnree years and the percentage of the total crop of those years ginned to September 25 for North and South Carolina is as. follows: North Carolina, 153,642 bales comn pared with 46,051 bales in 1910, when 6.1 per cent. was ginned; 80,498 in 1909, when 12.7 per cent. was ginned, and 89,063 bales in 1908, when 13 per~ cent. was ginned.
