Mr. Kinard thought he could save -ome of his household goods but lound on entering that the heat was too great. The neighbors gathered ,ery quickly, but the house being re ently built and of a large frame t7ructure, was soon bu,rned to the round and nothing could be done to save the building. Mr. Kinard has the sympathy of e entire community. He had the uilding insured for $300 with the 'Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Associat ion." It is very sad for a man with as 1 rge a family as he has to be left ithout shelter or raiment. The .eighbors realize his condition though and will contribute for his needs I which will be a greast help to him. The rains of last week put the and in fine condition for plowing and 'he farmers are busy these days sow ng oats. Oats that are sown in Octo her are generally the best. Rev. Prof. Gilbert Voigt, of New berry college, will preach at Colony chureh on the fifth Sunday in this month at eleven o 'clock a. m., on Missions. He has travelled ithrough ome o fthe Foreign countries dur ag the past summer and will be pre ared to deliver an excellent sermon n this subject. Mrs. M. 0. J. Kreps, of Prosperity, ill also be present and make an ad dress on missions. She is an able speaker and all who attend may ex :peet something of great interest from her. The indications are very favorable more rain and if we had our way ut it we would be glad to see it ain fair a short while. But what's use of kicking about tthe weather?
