The oth ers that pay their fine to the city were not prese'rted to the,grand jury. se- -Le grand jury threw them all out. The sentiment of the county is !arge y with -:he grand jury. How can you conviet anyone, for something YoU do yourself? Well. t:he county an-i city are selling liquor. It is just as worng, or more so, for them to sell as the individual. Now. I am personal ly not selling or handling liquor in any shape or form. and don't drink or have any in my house. and I don't like to see any one intoxicated. But since the dispensary law has come out there is more liquor drank -than was before; now people that drink liquor drink it by the bottle, buy it from the dispensaries; before they bought a drink from t"he bars. Now. w'iat we need here is license to sell If ally, and then there wou't be any blind tigers to bring to court. The dispensary law is nothing but a graft game, as it has been proven time and again. Prohibition would -not prohibi-t in Charleston. If it would-I would be J for it. But it won 't. It is time that the country people, who made the law would change it, and give Charleston a license-license by individuals. They ought to impress it on the law makers and when the time comes to put up a governor, put one up that -will use common sense on the liquor I question as far as Charleston is con aerned, at least. I know for a fact, bu- a capable business man who would like to see the city prosper. The writer was down to court when the grand jury brought in no t: bi.lls, and when the judge admoniish ed them for so doing. but the senti-0 ment of 'the county is voiced in the E grand jury.
