shown by the department of agriculture.
A number of addresses will bo
made and the scheme for "farming
that pays wil be fully outlined bv
the experts.
The Columbia chamber of commerce
and the farmers around Columbia
are preparing to care for those
who will attend the meeting, and the
outlook is for a most successful gathering.
All who wil come are urged to
notify the entertainment committee
of the chamber of commerce, Wil(iaui
Banks, chairman.

monstrations, to arrive in Columbia
[ on the evening of the 14th. On the
morning of the loth at .10 o'clock a
will leave lrom the front of (he capitol
and proceed to the Gonzales
frani, several miles north of the city,
which farm has been selected as the
central demonstration farm, and at
which farm these practical meetings
[will be held once a month during the
12 months of the yoar.v
"On arriving at tho farm the United
States experts will divide the visiting
farmers into groups and a practical
demons) rat ion with aceoinpanving
explanations will begin. About
noon a special car will be boarded and
all visitors will be carried, at the invitation
of the Columbia chamber of
commerce, to tin* Ridgewood Countrv
club house, where, in the main hali,
the meeting will be conducted. At

All overseers in the county of Newberry
are hereby notified to put their
respective sections in goot? condition
by September 1st next. And all landowners
are hereby notified to clean
out all streams upon and adjacent
to their lands by said time, and to
keep the same clear of all obstructions
to a free and uninterrupted
flow of sand and water through the
channels thereof.
Herein fail not, on pain of the
penally that will fall thereon.
