^Neapolitan Lover's Gruesonio Method
of Consolation.
Naples,
Oct. 31.?A particularly
gruesomo story has corao -.to light in
this city. Eliza Scalisi, a beautiful
young woman, was eimaged. to be
Vm married to a young marf named Alossandro,
but she died a few days beJp
fore the date sot for the ceremony
and was buried in a local cemetery.
Alcssandro was heartbroken over
his bereavement, and one night ho
dug up the body and carried it to his
\ lodging. He embalmed the corpse of
^ tho young woman, dressed it in its
bridal clothes, and kopt it in his
rooms for a fortnight. Neighbors
finally grow curious from the fact
that the young man never went
abroad, and peeping one day it'll rough
his shuttered windows they saw
Alassendro seated alongside the dead
body of the woman who was to have
been^ his wife affectionately holding
her hand.
The police were informed and Alesuandro
was arrested. The body has
been buried a second time.

tion of the International Lyceum Association,
which met at .Toliet, Illinois,
during early September, Paul M.
Pearson says in The Lyceumite and
Talent, tlie official organ of the Associal

was voiced by Dr. II. W. Soars, when
on the floor during a stormy business

Dr. Sears was not only calculated to
quiet Ihe storm, but that it was the
expression of the general feeling of
the meeting, which had been evidpnced
in many ways, and which was to

looked as though it might disrupt the
organization. Organizations of business
men, and even the fraternal societies,
to say nothing of a patriotic
society like the Daughters of the
American Revolution, do not always
have .meetings of such harmony that
the members appear lo lie brethren.

T. L. A., an association of people with
the proverbial artistic temperament,
has accomplished great things when
it has demonstrated Ilia! they are
brethren. What. Leigh Hunt, said of
actors may truthfully be said of platform
people, "A successful actor
would be a phenomenon of modesty
if he were not one of the vainest of
men. No one gets so much applause
as he does and in such an intoxicating
way, excepting a. conqueror entering
a city." For lecturers, readers, musicians,
entertainers, and managers,

whose ideas of art, and lifo, are

convention was a unit in its desire to
promote the welfare of the Association
as a whole, and in the end all ^
