The cot ton growers seek to have laws passed that will compel the ginners in each state to make a report. under oath every Saturiday as to the amount ginned during the week. Alabama has already passed such a law and it is believed other southern states will follow. Director North, of the census of flee, had lie whole program outlined to him and expressed himself as be ing in entire accord with the plan of the cotton growers. By having the various states co operate with the government to the end of having accurate reports at more frequent intervals, it is hoped to reduce to a minimum the uncer tainty and consequent speculation incident to the announcement of the government.'s estimate.
