A Delightful Occasion At Little - Mountain On Friday-Large Fo Gathering. - The local Camp Woodmen of the - world at Little Mountain had a rally L on last Friday and gave a picnic on FC the occassion. - A large crowd, num bering 200 or more, of valeant ] Sovereigns with their wives and gons k and daughters, assembled at the pa vilion to lpend a pleasant day and they were not disappointed. WA Promptly at 11 o'clock. Mr. J. C. E Epting, Jr., called the assembly to order under the pavilion and announc ed that several gentlemen had been invited to make addresses on the oc- Wj casion; that it was the object of the i gathering to increase an interest in E woodcraft. Addresses in the morning were made by R. C. Counts and J. S. Wheeler, both of whom are woodmen. FC Both urged the advantages of Wood- I craft, both from a social and insur a'lice standpoint. After these addresses preparations were made for dinner. And such a at dinner! Home-raised chicken and of hiam, the best of light bread, made ani from hiome-raised flour, pies and cakes without number. and other things too minierous to mention. After an hour of social Chatting W] Chairman Epting again called the erowd to order and introduced Mr. J. B. Derrick, president of the Little Mountain oil mill. He made an in teresting address on the work and benefit of the local camp. He was followed by J. B. O'Neall CA Holloway on the aims and purposes of the order of woodcraft. Music for the occasion was furn ished by the Little Mountain string hand, and delighItful music was given. Little Mountain is a thriving town TC of some 500 or 600 inhabitants, 8 or 10 stores, and oil mill, wheelwright and blacksmith shop and other small industries. It is settled an(d surround ed on all sides by a steady, indus trous, and hardworking people. A fine farming country forms a good backing to the town.
