No Longer Worn at Evening Services . In Pastor Roper's Church in Spartanburg. Pastor L. M. Roper. of the First l'aptist church. of Spartanburg. at Ite morning hour of worship Sunday, a 1nounced to his congregation that he had an innovation to suggest-that a: the evening services the ladies should appear without their hats or h:nnets. Frequently, as he stated, an at:ractive bonnet creation had the faces of interested spectators from the minister, and that as this custom had been introduced at the leading Methodist church of Canton. 0., and worked satisfactorily, it would not be a departure from all standards. The suggestion was acted on at the even ing hour of worship Sunday, and one of the largest congregations assern bled at the church. the women folks not wearing their hats. The effect seems pleasing and there is no oppo si-ion. and it is safe to surmise that te innovation1 will become a custom.
