The perfect resignation and com posure, with which - he met death proved that, to him, it had lost its sting and he anxiously waited to have eternalrest in "that beautiful city above." Being a man of few words, and rather reserver manners naturally, his noble traits of character, purity and honesty. were best known to his immediate family, and those who dealt with him. How much we loved him, can never be said, O,r dear loving father whom we speak of as dead; in the beautiful mansions prepared upon high, We'll meet him, if faithful in the "sweet bye and bye." How we will miss his presence in our home so dear, As he comforted our -hearts, with words of cheer But we will think of our loved one in his bright home above, No suffering there-n-othing but hap piness and God's love. We will lay our deep sorrow at the foot of the cross, And look unto Jesus as we think of our loss; As we enter the kingdom .he'll know every face, And his lambs on the dear Savior's bosom will place. The Father will comfort with solace so sweet, If we'll only remember to "lie at his feet," He is waiting to heal us, he is waiting to bless, "He'll sancti-fy to us our deepest dis tress." We have been requested to pub lish the following: Could the wires possibly bear a sadder message than, "Pa is dead" to children hoping, yes earnestly pray ing, that God in His infinite mercy ,would provide some method by which to relieve and restore to health an .afflicted father? This was the shock-. -ing message received Tuesday morn ing at Prosperity, Clemson college, and Savannah by the children of Charlton B. Counts, who was born February 2, 1843, and died May 3, 1905. Aged 71 years 3 months, 1 day. He was married to Eugenia Chapman, December 2, 1858. To them were r born ten children. She, with seven Schildren and thirteen grand-children . survive him. He has been a most pa tient sufferer for more than six months--confined to his bed most of - the time. All that human skill could Sdo. was done to alleviat-e his suffer e ing, but in his own language, "God s had called him and found him ready
