San Francisco Climate. In San Francisco they are telling a story that is worth repetition. and will be appreciated by those Vsho have encountered the climate of the Golden Gate city. An Irishman came to America to. visit. .He was a true son of'Erin', with' an Irish man's appreciation of all things beau tiful. He went to Sat Franiscq for a sight-seeing trip, and w43le strollifig through the city with a: friend, ex claimed: "What -foine trees! SoI green! What makes it?" 'Clnate," answered the friend, briefly. A little later he cried out: "Arrah, the cqnplexions of y,pur ladies! So beautiful! What-". "Climate," interrupted the friend. The Irishman subsided for awhile. Now, San Francisco isn't exa'tly a prairie, and not many moments passing until the twio encountered one of the small mountains they call knolls out there. "Begorra,'- said the visitor, "and how d'ye think Oo'm to get up that?" "Climb it," said the friend. The Irishman stopped and looked at his companion. "The devil you say? Seems to me everything is climate out here." Tabloid Philosophy. Philadelphia Record. A bad egg isn't all that it is cracked up to be. The derrick isn't handsome, but it has .an up-lifting influence. It is sometimes the absence of dough that makes a fellow crusty. The beauty about failing is that you don't have to respond to en cores. Just because a man is cornered it 4ough that makes a fellow crusty. Don't tell a man to take a back seat unless you want him to take affront. UCENSE ORDINANCE.
