R. H. AULL. ]EDITOR Entered at the Postoffice at New berry, S. C., as second class matter. TUESDAY, OCTOBER ii. An explanation is due to Mr. J. M. Crosson, who has .been writing some very interesting letters to The Herald and News on the Newberry of the long ago. His -letter which is print ed today should have been printed some two weeks ago. The reason is the manuscript was mislaid and could not be found. We hope Judge Crosson will write as often as he can. He promises in his next to visit the town and to tell us of a lost boy. In this letter he writes of the Covenan ters and of people whose family name even lives in the county only in history. Others are familiar names to the present generation. We enjoy these reminiscences of the days that are no more and feel sure that our subscribers read ,them with interest. AT ST. PHILIPS. Entertainment on October i9th, By Woman's Missoinary Society.
