No 8 was delighted to have a number of charming* visitors. Mr. Homer Schumpert came home from Clenison to spend Christmas. Mr. Willie Herbert Spent Christmas at home. ,JIe will return to Wofford on Monday. Miss Iyaura Setzler spent Christmas with Miss Annie Herbert, having returned home this week. Mr. Bart Golden, of Arkansas, is visiting his sister, Mrs. John Reagin. Mr. Fair and family, of Augusta, j have been visiting his sister, Mrs. j I. P. Connor, for some time. Miss Mary Herbert, the charm- 1 ing daughter of Mr. W. I. Herbert, i is at home for a few days, ller many friends regret that she could j not spend Christinas at home: Mr. Reagin, of Georgia, visited his brother, Mr. John W. Reagin, here last week. Mr. Reagin returned home 011 Sunday. Mr. Willie Long and family, of Greenwood, spent Christmas at his mother's, Mrs. Lula Long. News From Excelsior Excclsior, S. C., January 7.?Our { school opened again Monday morn-1 ing after a week off for Christinas. | Christmas passed quietly in this section and the weather was all j that could have been desired. Master Auuierle Lorrick spent Christmas with relatives t Irmo. Mrs. Caroline Cook, who has been sick for the past two weeks, is able to be up again. Mr. Ira Nates, of Columbia, spent Christmas at his father's home here. Mrs. Shealy moved to Newberry last week, where she will make her home. Mr. Pink Cook and wife, of Columbia, spent Christinas with relatives in Bachinan Chapel section. Mr. E. M. Shealy and family | have moved to the St. Paul's com | inuuity. Mr. KJdie Shealy, a student of | Lenoir college, Hickory, N. C.,1 si ent his Christmas holidays at1 * home. Mrs. J. C. Singley and children j visited relatives near Pomaria , during the holidoys. Mrs. Set/ler, of near Peak, visited Prof. J. S. Wheeler's family j here last week, Mrs. Set/.ler, an aged lady oi about 80 summers, is enjoying good health and can amuse anyone ;ti talking of days past and gone. ^ A Family Reunion. The family of Mr. J. M. Taylor met at his home 011 January 1 to celebrate his seventy-first birthday. He has been married three times and has been blessed with nine sons, five daughters, forty grand children, and six great grairJ children living; two children and two wives have died. All of the children were present except o.;e of his sous, Dr. T. j A. Taylor, who is in Texas. There : were seventy-three present who en joyed the occasion. At the hour! for dinner a long table very richly! provided was sot in hie yard. The 1 smaller children spent Hie day in playing little games, while the older ones held pleasant conversations. t It was an enjoyable occasion that will be long remembered l>y ;ill present. Mr. Wm.
