BODY IN A TRINK. A Man Arrested in Chefoo, China, Charged W'fth'Murder. The body of a woman lately Iden tified as Gertrude Dayton, was found in a trunk on board the Royal Mail line steamer Mouteagle, in Chinese waters, and H. Adsetts, formerly a sergeant in the American legitation guard, at Pekin, has been charged with the murder. He is now impris oned on the United States cruiser Galveston. Adsetts will be turned over to the British authorities and tried in Hong Kong. The woman wa? apparently stran gled. The trunk was taken aboard the vessel at Hong Kong, by an American, who represented himself as a' passenger. It Is believed that robbery was the motive for the crime, as Adsetts had $2,400 and some val uable jewels on his person when he was captured. While on shipboard on the way to j Chefoc, Adsetts showed his army papers and it was learned that he was the same man who committed j robbery in a house in Pekin. The Chinese detected him that time by his gold teeth. His gold teeth was the cause of his capture the second time. The authorities refuse to give out any facts concerning the evidence ? until after Adsetts has had his pre liminary hearing.
