"This was old corn land, which
had the previous year, under the auti.
book system of' frmiiiing, produced '5

The ground was ploughied 14 inch.

plauts were removed from each hill.
On the 8th day of May, tetn acres
were planted with aced which ha-id

pounds of saltpetre and two of cop
ieras. These tU neres yielded sixty.

soaked twenty four hours in tLhe samte

this was one hundred and hve bushels

steeped for thirty hiours ill a solution
