The Meeting at Curetou's Mill. The third of a series of meetings in the County canvas was held at Curtton's Mill on Saturday last. The people of this section are noted fur their hospitality, patriotism and devotion to the inb rests of the County and State. As fur back as the memory of the oldest inhabitant runs, Curcton's Mill has been famous as one of the Connly polling precincts, as a rendezvous or muster ground for the Militia, for burbacues, where the gilled and eloquent s^ns of old Kershaw, many of whom have long since passed away, were w> nt to address thoir fellow-citizens on the topics of the day. Gen Kennedy was followed by Messrs Knave!!. Moseley, Trauthain and Kirk and, candidates tor the Legislature, all of whom acquitted themselves well in short addresses. The candidates for School Com* missioncr, Probate Judge, County Commissioners,Treasurer, and Auditor, were presented to the audienco. and those who felt inclined made short speeches. We regret ti at our crowded space will not permit us to give a more U-ngthy account of the speeches. Some of the candidates, wo thought, made the best speeches we have ever heard thein make.
