The farmer employs too maiiy of the other classes to attend io Ids business, and often pays them too much for services rendered. To obtain money or supplies to make his crop the farmer pays the retaii dealers profit: the wholesale dealers profit; the local hankers profit, and the t-1!charged the local banker by the New York capitalist for the use of his money. If there was no legal obstruction the farmer could borrow money direct from the Yew York capitalist (or banker) and purchase from producers and manufacturers direct, and thus save two profits on his purchases now unnecessarily paid to middle men that could be dispensed with. Therefore it is not the oilier classes, but the improper use we make of them, that is so burdensome to us as farmers. The doctor, the printer or journalist, the lawyer, the merchant, the ?-? v.w.,.1,n,.-> mjiimfncturcr and the transportation companies, are all useful to the farmer, when properly used by him, but excessive indulgence in the use of these classes will pro ve costly and bur lensomo.
