This cotton is peculiar 011 account of its excessive fruitfulness and the , maimer in which the bolls are developed. As described by the Washington Gazette in growth and appearance the wfrcd has the resemblance of the prolific varieties, growing 1 un in a somewhat conical form, though we ( think the growth is more vigorous than these rarities. The squares and blooms grow in t clusters and very thick. As a consequence there is a positive and growing interest in the production of fruits, and ns the subject possesses pecuniary interest to most growers, they are ^ taking care to cultivate the best varieties. But as an art icle of food, fruits are now considered as essential to really proper diet, , taking rank with bread and Vegetables; and ; t if less meats were used and their place sup- j ] plied with line fruits, it would promote the i1 general health of the people and. particularly i! in all hot countries and Tdteateal '^Ve over j tax the digestive power?
