C. : , The following is a correct stalcinint ot' the cot inn raised by Stevens & Cureton on 1J acres of stubble land, which was manured with 400 pounds of Carolina Fertilizer. The following is the mode of cultivation: it was thoroughly broken up l!? inches deep, and laid off in rows three and a Imlf foot wide, and the fertilizer applied in the drill, then bedded on it on the loth of May, nod planted the same day, but on iric to the cool and dry weather, did uot come up to a stanu until about the 1st of June First working it was run around with a half shovel ahd partially trimmed out with a hoe. Second working it was run r.round'with a 3 inch grub, 12 inches long and the middles thrown out with a sweep lb inches wide. One furrow to a row nqd thinned to a stand with a hoc about 12 inches bct\|pcii the stocks, and afterwards it was ploughed every two weeks with a sweep 18 inches wide, and hoed each time, uulil it was worked live times.
