Joseph Kershaw, the founder of Camden. She was one of the few whose reminiscences lead hack to the exciting Bcenc* of the Revolution, with which her youth was nainfullv associated, bv the exile of hnr fathnr gnu the oppression of her mother and family, by the British soldiery who then occupied this place. Though she lived secluded from the world for rhany years past; yet to the last, she was actively engaged in endeavors to promote the happiness of * those who had claims on her affections and interest, and by whom she was more than ordinarily revered, loved and lamented.
