Koines, Iowa, who it was believed
would escape the gallows, was attended
to by Judge Ly nch and a porAy of
masked men, on the night of the lith.
It was a very quiet affair, the prison
officials say. Howard was taken from i
his cell and strung up to n lamp-post
on the oorner of the street. The gene?
ral opinion is, "served him right."
