BY JULIAN A. SELBY, Murder Most Foul.?We learn privately of a foul murder wbioh was perpetrated'some days ago, in Ruther? ford Goanty. It appears that one Joe Hodge and a fellow named Hyder, both nttaobees of the Rutherford County Ku Elux hunting gang, bought some stock from two cattle drovers. After some time they took up a sus? picion that the* drovers were not the lawful owners of the stock, and started after them, both, taking different roads. Hodge went to a negro cabin pad made the darkey take his gnn and go with him. Suddenly they came up with the drovers, and Hodge, with drawn pietpl, ordered them to surren? der. They made some demur, where? upon Hodge fired, and severely wound? ed one of the men. The other tried to tiro, but failing to do so, closod with Hodge, who broke the handle off his pistol in the melee. The latter then shonted to the negro to come and shoot his antagonist, which the negro did?placing his gun at the man's breast, and blowing his heart in pieces while Hodge held him. Snob are the facts as reported. The other drover is not expected to live. Hodge went be? fore a Radioal magistrate and gave a email bond for his appoaranoe. He is one of the Loganite creatures that helped to maltreat the so-called Ku Klox in 1871.?Charlotte Observer. The Outrage Convention has de? cided to appoint a permanent commit? tee wbioh shall be stationed in Wash? ington this winter for the purpose of furnishing Congress with outrages enongh to justify additional recon? struction. Jeff. Long wished to plant himself on the mountains of Tonnes see until all the outrages were reported, bat some one suggested that the Ad? ministration had made no appropria? tion for the payment of expenses, and the planting process was abandoned, to the great detriment of the Chattanooga chain-gang.
