A Lion Hunt ok a Steamship.?The steamship City of London seems to have hod a most exciting and success? ful lion hunt on the 19th of March j last. On that morning, when at the junction of the rivers Euphrates and Tigris, three, full-grown lionswereseen' walking along the shore in the water, about a mile ahead of the steamer. On nearin'g the beasts, one was shot dead, wbllo trying to swim toward the ship, and the. steamer pursued the two others, who ? turned ruund to charge the vessel. . After <many shots, the two were killed. The*carcasses of the two lioasv?3;^as(.thGj\proved to b?, were taken 'on board. About tcu minutes later, a large male lion appeared, and advanced to charge the chip, when a fresh volley laid him low, and his oar cass taken on board. He weighed 24.0 j pounds. Tho like of this incident bus never occurred before in that part of j Mesopotamia. ' { < -.
