A Baxter man, stationed on the bank of the river, about 9 o'clock, this morning, fired ut one of Brooks' piokota, standing oppo? site, near the State House. Tho bull lodged just above his head in a tree. Subsequently, the Baxter men com menoed firing on Brooks' pickets, which were posted on the river side, continu? ing all day.
