BY JULIAN A. SELBY. HBarntm's American Hippodbomb.? Toe more we hear of the enormous pre? pare; Iod.8 being made by Mr. Farm U for. his monster American Hippodrome, the more we are astonished. Sorely it is intended to fnr'aurpaBB any previous prediction o! the kind that this or any other country , has ever seen. Some time ago we annonnoed the faot that Mr. Barnnm had purchased many thou? sands C? **022{?S* *?9?th Of V>yprtprtiflB from Messrs. Sauger, and that the arm? orers were to be set to work immedi? ately, and, as we expected, Messrs. Ken? nedy & Co., of Birmingham, have re? ceived orders for hundreds of suits of armor, which they are working at almost night and day, at their manufactory, to complete by a given time. We may here remark that this firm has jastly obtained a world-wide reputation for spectaoular armor, of which they are the original inventors and manufao tarers; and to auoh a pitch of excellence have they brought it, that the entire London presB apeak, and we think very justly, in its highest praise; and we doubt not their invention has put thon eands of pounds into the pockets of ma? nagers, not only in England, but in many other parte of the world. In con? firmation of this opinion, we have only to pay a visit to Astley's and the stand? ard theatres to find crowded houses, and to look upon suoh scenes of splendor that, until the present time, have never been brought before .the public, and which havo been styled by the press as "indescribably grand." We regret we have not yet been able to pay their es? tablishment a. visit, as among other goods Mr. Barnnm has purchased from them, are two suits of jeweled armor, suoh as the world bau never, before ceen. Some idea of their splendor may be ga? thered from the faot, that not only are they coated with real gold, but are set with upward of 12.000 stones. We be? lieve it is the intention of Mr. Barnum to exhibit these in Amerioa before bis establishment opens, in glass cases, which are being made specially for that pnrpose. We understand they have orders in hand for nearly 100 suits of armor for a spectacular piece, about to be produced in Paris, and heartily con? gratulate MeesrB. Kennedy on the great success of their invention, [London Era, 8t7i. During the progress of a ball in Mott Haven, N. Y., given by the colored Young Men's Christian Association, a few nights ago, Thomas Bryan, colored, endeavored to force an entrauce into the hall, when the doorman, James Wil? liams, pushed him dowu stairs* break? ing his neck and causing instant death. Williams was arrested. IMPORTED PARTAGAS! $10 Per Box, at Indian Girl Cigar Store.
