bankruptcy is all exolusive jurisdiction.

have jurisdiction, under their statutes,

ration, their jurisdiction is at an end
the moment tbe corporation is adjudi?
cated a bankrupt t>y the District Court,
and, in this respeot, wo can see no dif?
ference between tho proceedings of a
State Court under u particular statute
relating to insolvent corporations aud
its proceedings uuder its general powers
fis a Court of Equity to wind up tbe
affairs of an iusolvcnt corporation.
31. That we are of opinion that the
Act of Congress of February 13, 1873,
relates only to such orders relating to
the ratable distribution or puyment of
dividends as the State Court* may have
passed prior to the commencement of
pruoeeding8 in the Distriot Courts, or
prior to its adjudication iu bankruptoy,
to tho rutuble distribution or pay meet
of dividend*. *
It seems to tbe Court plain, also, that
no question of comity betwee i Courts
uun arise in this case, for, aside from
tho numerous decisions quoted in arga
mont determining the exclusive juris?
diction of the United Slates Courts in
Bankruptcy, tbe Act of February 13,.
1?73, renders the mutter certain, for
Congress would never have directed tbe
Bankrupt Court to obey auy orders
passed by a Stato Court, prior to its
decree in bankruptoy, if ihe Bankrapt
Court could take no jurisdiction of an
insolvent corporation's affairs, after bill
died in a State C.iurt, to wind up their
affairs.
Iu this case there has been no order
of a State Court respecting poymeut or j
distribution. There has been uo re?
ceiver appoiuted to tuke possession of
the cfleets of the insolvent corporation.
The court has required tbe officers of
the company to remain in possession
and make no transfor; tbey have not so
made transfer; the transfer was by ope?
ration of law, upon the application for
the benefit of the bankrupt Aot to the
District Court. We do not thiuk a
State Conrt can, by any process, pre?
vent a party from applying to the Dis?
trict Court for thu benefit of the pro?
visions of Ihe bankrupt law. We think
tbe objection, that the injunction agaiuBt
Watson, a creditor of the bankrupt, was
itnprovideutly issued because be was not
a party to the petition in bankruptcy,
is not well taken. All tbe creditors of
