Several mem? bers of that uninrnitteo said to-day, there would be no hasty action upon the subject. The Treasury Department is somewhat pressed for money, not only by the falling off iu the revenues, but by tbe extraordinary appropriations of ?4,000,000 or $5,000,000 for navul pur? poses, and the earlv approach of tho re? demption of tho '820,000,000 loan of 1858, a bill in relation to which is now pending between the two houses of Gcn greBB. Members of Congress, severally, are now privately discussing the matter of curroucy; some of them have already introduced, iu their respective houses, bills or resolutions containing such pro? posed methods as will, in their opinion, afford tho relief at preseut required. A large number of them favor nu increase of tho ourreooy, either by releasing the treasury, oi bank reserves-, or an ar? rangement for what is called an elastic currency, making currency and bonds at all times interchangeable according to business interests or necessities.
