Be it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of the Cily of Columbia, in Council antembled, That any person in whose possession any horae, mule, cow, hog. dog, sheep or goat shall die within tho limits of thia city, shall immediately, upon tho death of such animal, cause theaamo to be removed without tho limits of ohe city, or buried in aomo remoto place, not within 300 yarda of any habitation, in such manner as to prevent tho same from being offonbive; and any per? son negleoting to remove or bury any snob dead animal, within hours after its death, ?hall be subject to a penalty of (5 for each and every oftonce. "Sec. 2. And be it further ordained, That if any such pcison shall permit, any such dead animal to remain unbnried or unremoved from the limits ot tho town longer than six hours, the Chief of Police, or any one of hia assistants, shall cause the same to bo re? moved ur buried at tho cxponco of such per eon."
