A Man "Who Never Owed More than Five Cents.?A correspondent of the Frederigksbnrg Ledger, writing from Es? sex County, mentions the death of a re markable and worthy old gentleman of Richmond County, Mr. John B. SiBSon, in the eightieth year of his age. He was an industrious man, and had accumu? lated some property, which he left to his only daughter. Ho was a Boldier in the war of 1812. He often remarked that he never owed any one bnt five cents dar? ing the eighty years of his.life, and that was a balanoe on a bill of goods pur? chased of old Mr. H?tt, deceased, the father of Solomon S. H?tt. He said he conld not sloep that night because of his owing five cents, and he got up very early the next morning, went to seo Mr. H?tt, and paid the flve cents. Never before, or afterwards, did he owe any person one cent. The Newport Mercury, a weekly paper, established by Franklin in 17?S, is the oldest paper in America. Wooden-ware.
